Bloggers Turn on Brew Dog
Blog commentator John Clarke, wrote some time ago - on my blog I think - that "I get the sense they (Brew Dog) may be starting to believe their own publicity. "
Following their latest foray into self publicity, reported brilliantly and with passion by Pete Brown here, they have been furiously back pedalling to try and regain support - or as they would have it, explain their position. I am not going to say much more about it, as it is all said on Pete's blog and even on the ultra loyal Pencil and Spoon blog, that they have overstepped the mark.
Maybe the old adage that there is no such thing as bad publicity is being heartily disproved here, but will lessons be learned? Somehow I doubt it.
Back to beer, I'd also like to hear James of BD say something somewhere about his cask ale policies.
Who cares about CAMRA - its all about scoopin and cruising gay bars.
ReplyDeleteInspired by a previous post of yours, should we be asking are Brewdog actually a spoof?!
ReplyDelete'Back to beer, I'd also like to hear James of BD say something somewhere about his cask ale policies.'
ReplyDeleteGiven the recent amount I've read/written about BrewDog, this is about the only thing I care about.
Am now at the point where I just switch off with the marketing as I've seen it all now - where can they go with it? That said, I wish them well with it, trying to attract those not yet up to speed.
The beer is just splendid, though. Cask Punk is a joy and what happened to The Physics? That was super.
Oh but have you tasted Brewdogs new beer, Anal Rape?. It's a wonderful drop.
ReplyDeleteLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo gay bars round here Barry for CAMRA members to do their scooping in. Sounds like we're missing out on something; or perhaps NOT!
ReplyDeletePerhaps though that's where Cooking Lager tasted Brewdog's new beer????
I'll see you at the Gay bar - gay bar..
ReplyDeleteHi Cooking Lager.
ReplyDeleteI thought about the Anal Rape but I couldn't be arsed.
Wahaay !
OK. That'll do. Not even funny.
ReplyDeleteI do agree - BD overload is certainly the feel in my house.
ReplyDeleteWhilst BD might create a stir in the blogosphere the simple fact is that it has hardly made a scintilla's smidgeon of an impact on the general drinking public.
ReplyDeleteThe beer is okay but not really for the price of it, the bottle labelling is shite, and far from being a punk beer it's the alcoholic equivalent of playing air guitar.
Whatever the beer is like, its nice to see someone attempting to sell beer in a more interesting manner. Ersatz historical references or bloody goblins on pumpclips have been done to death
