Snow
We're getting a proper winter at last. Repeatedly. More snow overnight. More snow as I type. It has been a pain in the proverbial. My walks are more or less abandoned. The pavements are like a skating rink and the roads are overcome. Today I have a lot of CAMRA stuff to do, both for the Branch and for the Winter Ales Fest. I am up to my neck in Chairman's newsletters, risk assessments, staffing guidelines, signing in sheets and other things.
Tonight, hopefully, I'm at a CAMRA meeting, but I am sick of beer and alcohol generally. So is this afternoon a time to start on my Pete Brown books? Which order should I read them in by the way, or does it matter?
Funny old month January.
I'm reading man walks into a pub at the moment, I read Hops and Glory first so I don't think there's a proper order to read them in. Pete might argue with that..then again he probably won't as long as people are buying them!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
I think you can do them in any order. I'd suggest doing it Man Walks, Three Sheets then Hops, but it wouldn't matter.
ReplyDeleteAnd that is some proper snow! We had it like that before Christmas and it's expected to come down today/tomorrow.
I can't think of anything that makes me want to attend the NWAF more than this weather. Bring it on, I say! Although of course, I won't be able to cross the Pennines if it continues much longer.
ReplyDeleteYou'd be better off with one of Jordan's many books. How many Pop Idols has Pete Brown robbed of their innocence?
ReplyDeleteCookie - what order should they be read in?
ReplyDeleteI'd probably read them in the order they were published, just because. Not that I've done that, mind.
ReplyDeleteA fair bit of snow here too. Enough to make me get the bus to work instead of cycling. Last year I persevered, but I couldn't be arsed after the Crimbo holidays...
I've got crampons and ice axes so bring it on!
ReplyDeleteI still like Three Sheets to the Wind the best, but you can read them in any order I reckon.
ReplyDeleteSnow, I like snow, even though it makes the water to the building freeze.
"I am sick of beer and alcohol generally." Can't compute.
ReplyDeleteMy arse bleeds for you all! West Coast, home of Proper Real Keg, 24c!!!! I'm off for a drive down the coast and some Proper Real Keg! Don't let your bollocks freeze!!
ReplyDeleteDon't get done for drink driving!

ReplyDeleteJust skip to Ch. 29 of Hops and Glory. That's the best bit.
ReplyDeleteDrink driving?!? He's an AMERICAN. He knows his LIMITS.
