Not April the First

Tell me please, that if you saw this bollocks on April Fool's Day that you wouldn't be taken in by it? What kind of moron would drink this stuff?

Surely it's a spoof?

Well Rednecks in the States and Chavs over here.

It might taste nice for all you know.

Probably not, but it might.

Hilarious but true. The original Jeremiah Weed (50 proof) is a serious drink that is apparently the favourite choice of US Airforce pilots. This "Weed & Lemonade" version is obviously trying to cash in on that image but appeal to sniggering students and chavs.

Vodka and sweet tea might taste nice?

I quite like them iced tea drinks from Liptons. The Peach ones nice as is the lemon. Never thought of putting a shot of vodka in there, but yeh, it might taste nice.

No worse than a lot of other mixers.

"Weed and lemonade"? - and BrewDog were banned from using Speedball as a name.

Weed = cannabis, everyone knows that. Do the Portman group not?

Good point Dave.

As you suggest, if it were the 1st April, you wouldn't believe it. It makes my 1st April Foster's cask ale spoof look fairly plausible!

I have just been in an ABC in town here and they have a sweet tea flavoured vodka - the thought is horrifying!

Sounds a bit like Long Island Iced Tea. Which is very nice indeed.

That's not the weirdest thing in the MA this week. What about this: "A new London bar offering hot cocktails served in teacups and jam jars and a giant Narnia-style wardrobe seating area opens this Friday (24 September).

The new site is an Enterprise Inns lease and also features a wall garden with pink flamingos, a velvet draped mezzaninie level with a scratch n’sniff gallery from Flavorleague, New York; and Sailor Jerry rum themed gents toilets with tattoo and nautical decor.

The cocktail list offers the Willy’s Wonka (£7) which includes Evan Williams bourbon, blueberry pureé, blueberry liqueur, loganberry jam, egg white, lemon juice and a dash of gomme; the Jaffa (£7) which is served with a floating Jaffa Cake garnish and the Relish the Thought(£7) whose ingredients include honey roasted parsnip pureé and caramelised red onion relish with a Dolcelatte cheese garnish."

I'm not in London, I don't do pink or velvet and I can't afford cocktails. Also I had a bad experience of Narnia at primary school and avoid it like the plague.
