Recession Hitting Glasgow Hard

Seems things are bad in the "Dear Green Place". This sign says it all.

What type of beer is that then? Seems a bit expensive to me.

How many cases did you buy?

It must be Brauerei Krug from Geisfeld in Franconia. I haven't heard of Grande Cuvee, but their Ungespundetes Kellerbier is highly spoken of. Still pricey though.

How long are you in Glasgow for?

I'm not any more. I'm home.

There are two Brauereien in Geisfeld. Krug brews a Dunkel and a rotating monthly beer. Griess brews the outstanding Kellerbier (ungespundetes or not, I'm not sure, unfiltered at any rate--practically bottle conditioned), a rather lame Pils, and an amazing Xmas Bock.

Hmmm, yes expensive "beer", that.

Back in the day I was the cellarman at Glyndebourne Opera. One of the tasks each day was to stock the champagne bar. A lovely glass of Krug was my reward. Happy Days

Indeed. I bet you had more than one glass from time to time.
