The categories to be judged at this half of the event (it is now too big to do it all in one venue) are:
Bitters and Pale Ales (Up to 4.0% ABV)
Strong Ales (Over 5.6% ABV)
Bottled Beers (in 4 categories)
It promises to be an interesting day out and one which I looking forward to. I'll report back.

Does this involve wearing a wig and having a hammer?
No Cookie. Free lout - I mean craft beer - and getting hammered (possibly).
I see that the remaining categories will be judged at the Scarisbrick Hotel in Southport in January. Are you involved in that as well?
Judging the IBC beer awards was one of the worst experiences of my life (I've lived a charmed one, admittedly), so I can't help but pity even you, Peter.
Why thank you Jeff. Even me eh? I'm touched.
Emotional. Both of you need to record some tracks.
Free grog? Nice, do they need a cooking lager connoisseur?
Sausage that's your exclusive domain.
Did you steal "Here comes the judge" from Laugh In?
What's Laugh In then? So no!

About a quarter way down it mentions the judge.
Have fun, I hope it is a good gig!
Bloody Hell Sausage. It ended in 1973! And it was Yankee.
I thought maybe it was broadcast to the island.
I think it was. but at that time and for many years after, I was too busy chasing girls.
Chasing girls??? I knew you were into the arts!!
