Neo-prohibitionism


No, you haven't dialled up Curmudgeon by mistake. It's still me, but a different thing this time. Mudgie is always banging on about the anti alcohol brigade, so I draw his attention and yours to this in the Morning Advertiser.

I question the notion of a "spectacular comeback as a social problem".

"A spectacular comeback as a moral panic" is closer to the truth.

This is the typical blinkered response to perceived social and health problems – blame the weapon and not the assailant, so to speak. Are there no politically motivated people (that’s political with a small ‘p’) who can think holistically and laterally? Alcohol is not a problem.
