A lovely day so far, so in the normal scheme of things, your mind turns to al fresco supping. Problem is al fresco boozing, in the pub at least, has been hi jacked by smokers. The average outdoor drinking area has become polluted beyond belief. The smoking ban is good I believe, but it means you have to pick your outside drinking carefully and be prepared to give it up most of the time.
There is always my garden though. That's smoke free, so I may have to buy some in.
Rotherfield, at last

On *Friday,* I finally crossed *Rotherfield* off from my list of pub places
to visit. This followed one reconnaissance visit, whilst on the return

I've made this point before. I liked taking my daughter to the Malt Shovel's garden before the ban, but don't feel happy doing that now.
Shouldn't complain though; inside the pub is so much better.
It's actually too hot for me to be outside at the minute. Enjoying a nice bottle of Red Rock Humber Down indoors!
Cheers
Unfortuantely, this is one of the unintended consequences of a blunt instrument like the Health Act 2006.
Mr. Talisman-
You guys across the pond seem to be coinciding with the US. Next thing they'll do is make your pint 16 ounces. They've already trying to change the drinking age to 21.
I hate beer blogs, but enjoy reading yours and a few others. That southern poof, who doesn't know ^%$# all, should just hang it up. Tell ya how hard he is, he was ready to call the internet cops on me for mentioning I'd like to "throttle" him. I live 5300 miles from London. I think that says it all. And what's wrong with having a blog war anyway??
Another reason why the option of a designated indoor smoking room might have been a better idea than a total ban.
Whorst - I have to agree that blog wars can be good entertainment. Controversial opinions often provoke good discussions, but not always. I enjoy reading the blog you allude to, even though (and partly because) I don't agree with everything posted on it. Still, the world would be a dull place if we all shared the same opinion.
Many really old pubs tend to be cooler inside in this weather, so pleasant to sit in. I have a health problem so can't sit outside during the middle of the day, and in the evening I get bit to buggery. So I'm more than happy being indoors. Always have to look for the positives!
