I'm off to my London flat for a few days later today. Do any of my readers have any up to date tips for me pub and beer wise?
It'd be nice to go somewhere new to me, with good beer and a decent range. My blog has my usual haunts in it somewhere .

I think you probably know the ones not to miss. I followed up on your last London trip and you were spot on with the Old Fountain (and your assessment of the Wenlock).
You know about the Borough strip, I see.
The thing is this: London has *a lot* of very good pubs - but then it is a huge city. I can't help feeling sometimes the density of good pubs is, by contrast, very low.
Try the Sam Smith pubs ok the beer is just OBB but the pubs are fantastic - Princess Louise High Holborn, Cittie of York, Ye olde chesire cheese. Its a pleasant walk as well and Ye Olde Mitre is not far either.
If your coming by train into Euston then the Bree Louise is only a 2 min walk and is North London CAMRA's Pub of the Year. I wouldn't be surprised if it's one you have visited before though.
Compton Arms, Islington
Rose and Crown, Stoke Newington
Traveller's Friend, Woodford Green
Cheers!
JJ. - I more or less agree about London. I usually love the pubs and hate most of the beer.
Brewblogger - I have more Sam's pubs in my own area than I can shake a stick at. They took over Rochdale and Manor Brewery.
Andy - I haven't been in the Bree Louise since before it was the Bre Louise. I might give that a go.
Olthwaite. These sound a bit hard to find, but thanks. Any favourite with an address?

You'll have been to The Harp (Chandos Place near Charing Cross/Trafalgar Square?) Best pub in London for me, along with the Mitre.
Try the Dispensary, Leman Street, E1, Aldgate. CAMRA City pub of the Year.
Indeed it is and I know it well. It is 200 yards from me as I type.
I'll be in there later. Or tomorrow.
Eddie -Thanks. I've printed the list out.
If you fancy a trip out to Kingston there is a beer fest on with south of England beers you might not see in your area.See www.thewilloughbyarms.com
Thanks Jocko but it's a bit far out for my plans.
