We are in France now with crap beer such as Pelforth at prices that would make a grown man weep. Beer is needed only because of the heat, but red wine will fill the void best later.
Yes it's hot and sunny now!

I used to think Pelforth Brune was the height of sophistication.
Mind you, that was a long time ago.
I can think of a lot worse beers than Pelforth, and I might drink it in preference to wine.
Hot, Sun, Bad Beer, Red Wine, the reasons not to go to France just keep coming ...
Maybe you're missing Spain a bit despite its crap lager hehehehehe, at least ham and red it's better and cheaper in this part of the world.
P.S-PELFORTH(by heieneken)ia rubbish, in my opinioN, right?I `prefer Godale and Saint Landelin
As a sun lover who thrives in hot climes I can only but disagree with you Kieran!
Pelforth Brune is a happy beer for me. It was served in a little bar we frequented in the tiny old town quarter of Cannes two summers ago.
Another Pelforth Brune fan here.
And there's loads of good, reasonably-priced beer to be had in France if you know where to look.
Yes beer is expensive in France, from the bar, but not bottled. I found most supermarkets in France had at beer from at least one micro. Speaking to the brewers they all bottled 100% of their production, so join the French and have a pique-nique! The bread and cheese are marvellous, some of the beer's not bad either.
