Wait and See

It looks like things are dodgy for my IoM trip to the CAMRA AGM. The Icelandic volcano eruption has grounded all flights today and who knows for tomorrow. I'll be bitterly disappointed if it's a no go, as will the lovely E who is coming home tonight for it. It's bad enough them not paying us back the dosh that they owe us, but this is pushing things too far.

Question is, do I write my moving speech for my motion or not? I suppose I'd better!

If the disruption continues tomorrow, surely it's likely to seriously undermine the entire event as maybe up to half of all attendees will be travelling by air.

You are absolutely right. May have to go my ferry but that's a pain and not an option for many.

Seems the CAMRA NE will go to any lengths to stop you putting your motion...

I read this morning that flights from Blackpool are still on, although I presume that's a bit out of your way (and it's quite extortionate unless you book well in advance).

It's bizarre that a volcano in Iceland grounds flights to the Isle of Man, but I hope it gets sorted out: I was looking forward to hearing how your motions went. (I agree with one - not sure about the other)

Which way round? Anyway I've written my speech.

Well if all you pong drinkers don't make it over there, how are the rest of society going to get away with the Escape from New York style wall we a are planning to build around the island?

A shame, I know a lot goes into this weekend. Good luck!

Ah well, I've waited and seen. Flight cancelled. Looks like it is the Steam Packet instead. Hope it has some decent beer on board. Only lose a couple of hours going. A little more coming back, but we can have a drink on the ferry.
