I'm off on my hols to Bamberg tomorrow, so you'll have to do without me for a week or so. As I have to pack now, it's too late to tell you about the pub today, where the Ashes was watched with rapt attention, or Leeds yesterday, where a lot of beer was supped, not all of it on top form. In the latter case, Tyson was there, so maybe he'll spill the beans?
Be good.

Have a good time.
We'll try our best to cope, might be tough, but don't let the worry of that spoil you holidays.
Looks like the weather will be lovely, if a bit warm. Pack a Sonnenschirm (parasol)!

And thanks for the ride yesterday; whether a lift from the Rain Bar to Piccadilly is any quicker than a stroll to Oxford St. Station is questionable, but it did save me' shoulders!
And now we know that you can finish a pint (or a couple of halves) of Lees there and get comfortably on a flight within 2 hours.
And Dave--sorry to say it just didn't work out. In all my planning (pestering you with questions, plotting data for the GPS, poring over maps), we never made it further afield than the bus from Winderemere to Coniston and a walk to Hawkshead on Thursday. The Hardknott Pass will have to wait til the next trip...Lancaster is indeed a bit far for lots of lakeland exploration.
Thanks again for your help.
If everything works out, I'll be meeting up mit dem Tandlemann and the lovely E in a few hours for a few litres of Kellerbier, Rauchbier, Landbier, Schlottfegerla...
Looking forward to seeing pictures of you pounding posh lager and eating curry wurst!
Hope you have a good holiday, Tandleman. I've no doubt the beer will be both better, and cheaper in Bamberg than it was in Munich. Still we had a great time, and visited some fantastic beer gardens, and even managed to find some Australians to wind up about the Ashes!
Looking forward to reading your postings on Bamberg, when you return.
